Jimmy Maley attended Lyons Township High School where he became an All-State Selection his Senior and Junior seasons. Maley was named Player of the Year in the West Suburban Conference twice during his high school career. As a Junior, Jimmy lead the Lions to a 4th place finish in the Illinois state tournament.
His athletic abilities earned him a full scholarship to Northwestern Unversity in Chicago. He started more than 12 games his freshman year. Coach Maley completed his academic studies at Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts.
In just three years, Coach Maley is credited with stablizing and turning around a flinging basketball program in the Chicago Public League, Kenwood Academy.
Today, Maley is the head varsity coach at St. Laurence High School, a member of the Chicago Catholic League. He is considered one of the top young high school coaches in Illinois.
