Nolan Niego LockDown Class of 2019

One of basketball’s most valued skills is shooting. Players who can effectively shoot the basketball will always have a spot on the team & be awarded playing-time on the court. Therefore, beginning the creation of an effective shot is vitally important in a player’s development. Learning and executing the fundamentals at a young age gives players an edge over the competition. After acquiring the skills of shooting, players will get even better as they get bigger and stronger.

Players will learn & practice how to:

  • Establish a shooter’s platform from the “TOES to the POSE”.
  • Develop the proper footwork coming off the cut, catch & bounce.
  • Move without the ball to get open & generate shooting opportunities.
  • Create a free-throw ritual to gain consistency.
  • Practice without a hoop to dramatically increase the number of reps.
  • And much more.

Contests & Competitions
Prizes will be awarded to winning participants:

  • Individual Free-throw shooting contest
  • 3-point shooting contest (adjusted for younger players)
  • “Around the World” team shooting Competition
  • Plus-1 Minus-2 Challenge

Each player will receive additional “How-to” drills to practice in their backyard or local gym. Success doesn’t happen by CHANCE. It happens by CHOICE. Make the CHOICE to be an elite level Sharp Shooter.

Every basketball coach loves to have the "complete player" on their team. Coaches want players who can use a ball screen, defend on the ball, pass with a purpose, and make plays. At this clinic, players will get tips and techniques to quickly improve in each area of the game. There’ll be 45-minutes of intensive skills & drills training. This training will be supplemented by two 14-minute games to allow players to implement the newly learned skills.

Players will learn and practice how to:

  • Utilize the Pick & Roll in game-like situations
  • Think & act like a playmaker
  • Implement the Triple Threat position
  • Use a ball screen to create scoring opportunities
  • Pass off the dribble when being closely guard
  • Finish at the rim 4 different ways
  • Develop a “Shake Move” to blow by a defender
  • And much more.

Over the course of the clinic, players will compete in six 14-minute games to implement the newly learned skills. Winners of the mini-tournament will receive prizes.
